Colorado Springs, CO –New York rapper Solomon has always been a fan of many genres of music, everything from R&B, Rock-N-Roll, Latin to Country. He is also a fan of Italian opera (which he sings) and has incorporated the genre into his latest single “Hip Hopera”. Hailing from Hell’s Kitchen and now residing in Jackson Heights, NY, Solomon has been in the business of writing and making music for over a dozen years.
Considered the TRUE voice of the people, he has diligently worked his way through the industry leaving lasting impressions in his wake. His ability to fuse all styles of music with hip-hop has created a unique and recognizable sound that is all his own. “Music feeds the soul, and in order to really understand and make good music, you have to have an open ear, and be able to draw from all of the various types”, states Solomon
Solomon began his career writing hooks for independent labels, and in 2001 came to the attention of P.Diddy’s Bad Boy Entertainment. Since then, he has been involved in creating chart topping hit for artists such as Akon, Ice-T and Mr. Bad Boy himself.
“Hip Hopera” has been getting steady attention every Friday night at New York’s premiere Hip-Hop radio station Hot 97, and as of late has been receiving attention nationwide on other stations such as Miami’s Power 96 and California’s 102.3 “The Beat”. Many listeners have been fielding requests for the hip-hop tenors new track.
In 2003 Solomon produced his first album entitled Capitol Game in which he went on to sell 6,000 copies just on the streets of New York. The city was a buzz, and Solomon was able to get and keep his sound on the map. “I remember how exciting it was for me to have people know my songs and actually think they were good. I try to be creative with my music and keep people wanting to listen. I think this new single is one for the books, as far as my career is concerned.”
He has been featured on mix tapes, has appeared on television, been interviewed on radio shows, and performed in venues all over the U.S. His song “Pop Yo Hood” has been chosen as the lead song in a Dreamworks film to be released in early 2008 entitled Darc 893 starring Al Pacino and Ice T. Solomon who holds eight years of acting experience will also have a role in the film. Yes, he is multi-talented.
